James Lawler is a gifted self-taught artist originally from England who now resides in Victoria, British Columbia. Originally James landed in Toronto and eventually settled in the area of Orillia, Ontario, where he built a modest reputation as a landscape and wildlife artist. Many winters later, James made the easy choice of moving to British Columbia where he now enjoys ocean-side living in his sun-lit studio, creating his works of art. James’ wildlife and landscape fine art paintings have been well received in private collections and can now also be found as fine art prints and custom-designed greeting cards for discriminating clients.

During his years in Canada James has given courses in the art of bird painting using acrylic as his medium of choice. And in fact he is best known for his avian paintings featuring unique heron characters and other feathered friends. But it is James Lawler’s landscape paintings depicting West Coast settings, in particular his views of Victoria and Vancouver Island, that James is most celebrated for today.

The latest development in James Lawler’s art career is the addition of fine art prints and cards from his original acrylic works, to make them more readily available to the collecting public.

The greeting cards have been well received and are purchased internationally and are sent all around the world. For visitors to Victoria and Vancouver Island, James Lawler’s fine art is a beautiful souvenir of their vacation that is also a collectable work of art.
