The James Bay Market will be holding ticket raffles every week for the rest of the season with a variety of great prizes! Tickets will be available for purchase at the James Bay Market starting Saturday, June 30/12 and the following prizes will awarded on July 7th @ 2:30pm:

This beautiful hand-crafted piece of functional art is valued at $300 retail and was generously donated by Marty & Justin Gilbertson for our James Bay Market Society Raffle Series!

Coming from a large farming family which was very self reliant, Marty Gilbertson was set on his journey working with metal from a young age.

Today, and with 30 plus years of experience Marty Gilbertson’s work combines ancient metalworking techniques with the best of modern technology. Much of his inspiration coming from the construction and joining methods that are forged in the centuries of the blacksmiths craft.

Having visited over 65 countries in the past 10 years, Marty’s son Justin returned home in the later part of 2011 to lay down his roots and with his father built his current home overlooking French Beach in Shirley, a stone’s throw from his parents on the family acreage. It was here while hanging out in his dad’s studio that his addiction for blacksmithing made itself known.

Justin is currently developing a style of his own as an apprentice under the teachings and mentor-ship of his father while Marty himself continues to amaze people with his new designs and ideas on various projects.

(Valid until October 31, 2012 for anything sold at the James Bay Market!)

Raffle tickets will be available for purchase on Saturday, June 30th and again on Saturday, July 7 with the winning ticket to be drawn at 2:30 pm on July 7/2012. Tickets are priced a $2/ea or 3 tickets for $5 and all proceeds from the raffle will be used to help cover operating costs incurred by the James Bay Market.

The raffle winner does not need to be present in order to be eligible to claim their prize so be sure to include contact info on all tickets purchased! A member of the James Bay Market Society will contact all raffle winners to arrange pick up or delivery of their respective prize.
