With the summer behind us, and the holiday season on the horizon, we are all getting ready to leap into the busiest and most festive time of the year. On December 6th from 10am – 5pm, the James Bay Market Society will present the 34th Annual Dickens Fair. This year the Dickens will be hosting a grand group of artisans, makers, bakers and yes, candlestick makers! The James Bay Community Center at 140 Oswego Street will come alive with all day musical entertainment, great food from the café, lots of great door prizes too!
The James Bay Community School PAC committee will be coordinating the craft area and cookie decorating station that is popular with children and adults alike. There is also a giant Lego table that is a Dickens Fair favorite. A talented face painter will embellish the young and “young at heart” with adorable unicorns, ferocious tigers, ladybugs or whatever your heart desires! Our balloon artist will dazzle you with his balloon hats, silly animals and many other fun balloon creations. All of this fun won’t cost you a dime, just bring your smile and your imagination and have the time of your life! The Chicken Lady will be introducing us to her incredible feathered friends & there will be exciting demonstrations by the Flax to Linen group who will spin their own kind of magic while they show you how they create fabric from one of the world’s oldest cultivated plants!
The School Book Fair will also be going on with books for tots, children, and adults too!
There is something for everyone from great homemade foods to uniquely crafted gifts that are sure to put a sparkle in your eye. Afterwards you can enjoy the annual Christmas Lighted Truck Parade, a great day for the whole family!
Come on out and make the 34th Annual Dickens Fair your one-stop shopping and entertainment destination this holiday season.
