The Dickens Fair committee would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for all who participated in this year’s Dickens Fair. We are so grateful to our Vendors, Volunteers, the staff of the James Bay Community School to the Local businesses who gave us their support…and the Whole James Bay Community to came out to join us!

This year our expectations were exceeded by a record number of customers through the door. We saw a diverse group of people; over 100 children enjoyed the Children’s Craft Area while their parents shopped. The amount of James Bay residents that visited the Fair has increased; they were out in full force to support their local Vancouver Island makers, bakers, and growers. We also experienced a significant increase in the amount of visitors from surrounding area’s and out of town.

Our objective was for the Dickens Fair to be a fun and enjoyable community event where people could bring their family and friends and enjoy an all around unique shopping experience.  We also aimed to create a successful event where our vendors would enjoy themselves while making money and networking with other local artisans and businesspeople.  We hope that we succeeded and everyone, vendor and customer alike, will want to return next year.

We received a great deal of compliments from the customers while they were on their way out.  They loved the friendly atmosphere, the excellent service, and the quality and craftsmanship of the products on the showroom floors. It was our pleasure, and privilege to have such talented and dedicated people to represent this year’s Dickens Fair. You should all be so proud of yourselves for producing such amazing products, giving exemplary customer service and providing the public with a top-notch event.  We ask that you keep the James Bay Community Market in mind should you be looking for a summer venue for your handmade, homemade and home grown products and that you will return to the Dickens Fair again in 2015.

Thank you so much for all of your patience and for your feedback.  The information you have given us will help in determining the changes we will need to make our show even better for next year. We rely on your knowledge and experience to help us put on a show that is profitable and pleasurable and all around successful.
