
The Jame Bay Market Society (JBMS) manages craft/farmers markets in the James Bay area of Victoria. The two markets we presently manage are:
- The James Bay Community Market (every Saturday May through September)
- Dickens Fair (first Saturday in December)
The Society also sponsors Victoria Seedy Saturday held each February.
We are holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM) where a new Board will be elected. One does not need to be a vendor to participate as a board member of the JBMS. We are always looking for new members who bring new ideas and are willing to work hard to make our events a success. Do note that board members are unpaid and that being a board member does entail a fair amount of work.
You are invited to the 2019 AGM for the JBMS which will be held at the James Bay Community Centre, located at 140 Oswego Street in James Bay, on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
You are welcome to attend as an observer, but only full society members are allowed to vote at the AGM. Memberships will be collected from 12:30 to 1:15 pm. Please note that a full, voting membership fee is $20 annually. The AGM will commence at 1:30 promptly. If you are unable to download this form from our website at https://jamesbaymarket.com/jbm-applications/ , we will have blank forms available on that day.
We urge all interested parties attend as important decisions will be made regarding the running of the JBMS, the 2019 budget and an election of the new board. Membership is what drives the JBMS so please consider joining our board!
According to our constitution, if you have any new business, ideas or comments you would like discussed at the AGM they must be submitted in writing and sent by either email to board@jamesbaymarket.com or mailed to arrive at our mailing address: 547 Michigan Street, Victoria, V8V 1S5, NO LATER than February 15, 2019.
